New York

The city of a million famous catchphrases — you’ve heard ‘em all so I won’t bore you. There’s a vibration here, a constant buzz. It can be frenetic but if you see it through the same rose colored glasses I do, there’s magic and chaos on every block. Everyone feels like a character in a movie and the genre changes minute to minute. I can’t think of a place where you’ll hear more accents and languages on a single block than NYC.

If you grab breakfast at Hotel Chelsea, you may just be sipping coffee and rubbing shoulders with Sarah Silverman (we did, lol). Catch a play on Broadway and do your best to steer clear of the dreaded tourist-trap hell that is Times Square. But if you do find yourself there, you just may stumble into a surprise Charli XCX concert (yes, this also happened).

I do my best to visit New York in the spring and in the fall because the crisp air and changing leaves offer a certain extra kind of sparkle. The local excitement at the changing weather means everyone busts out their favorite transitional outfits in order to dress to impress. I save my chicest clothing for my trips to NY but I always leave room in my suitcase (and in my bank account) for the best (most dangerous) shopping. You’ll want to bring your most comfortable pair of shoes and be prepared for an impressive step-count at the end of each day.

Here are my favorite places to stay, eat, shop and visit in the city that never sleeps.
